Call for Peace

Call for Peace

We would like to make clear that we stand firmly against the invasion of Ukraine. As a program and faculty we offer our deepest and most sincere sympathies to the Ukrainians who have been forced from their homes, jobs, and families because of the invasion, to the hundreds of families of those who have died already during the invasion, and to the millions of people who have been and will be affected by these tragic events in Ukraine, its neighboring states, and abroad. We also stand with the Russians in Russia and abroad who are united with Ukrainians and much of the world against the invasion. This is not a war of Russia and Russians against Ukraine and Ukrainians. This is an unjust war of Vladimir Putin and the Russian state against Ukrainians and free democracies. We invite you all also to stand firmly against Putin and his regime however you can. As the banner draped across the Gorstkin bridge in St. Petersburg in defiance of prohibitions against protest says, "No to War."
